On 12 December 2023, YB Datuk Seri Haji Mohamad bin Sabu, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM) and also present with the Divisional Secretary (Food Security Division, KPKM), Director of the Selangor State Irrigation and Drainage Department, Deputy Director of Development II, Irrigation Department and Selangor Drainage, the Director General of the Malaysian Fish Development Board as well as officers from the Coastal Zone Management Division, Selangor Federal Project Office, LUAS, Kuala Langat Municipal Council, Kuala Langat District Office, Selangor State Fisheries Office, Kuala Langat Fishermen's Association to the Coastal Conservation Project Morib, Selangor State.
The Morib Beach Conservation Project involves beach nourishment works, the construction of 2 breakwaters, upgrading the seawall and boardwalk to restore the beach area that has been eroded. Indirectly, the coastal area can be protected from erosion caused by high waves and can improve the socio-economics of the surrounding population and make Morib Beach a tourist attraction in the future.
The visit of YB Minister KPKM is a follow-up to the One Year Program with the Civilian Government, where YB Prime Minister of Malaysia requested that an adjustment be implemented to resolve the issues arising from the Fishermen's side.
